Tuesday, April 17th, 2007Free to Air satellite receivers are coming on in leaps and bounds over recent months. The best of FTA receivers are now receiving broadcasts in High Definition and using ATSC as well as QPSK broadcasts. The newer FTA satellite receivers such as the 8000HD by Coolsat and the Sonicview HD 8000 are both capable of receiving and decoding High Definition signals.
This new range of FTA receiver uses MPEG4 as well as MPEG2 encoding and most High Definition receivers have the capability of updating their software and channel details via RS232 or USB 2.0 ports.
As well as the implementation of High Definition broadcast display capabilities many other features of the typical Free to Air receiver have been upgraded. Picture quality has been upgraded to a maximum of 1080i format with crystal clear image quality through the use of a NIM tuner. These new FTA receivers will allow everyone access to the excellent picture quality achieved with High Definition television broadcasting.
